Embroidery provides resonance and depth to a pattern or motif while the repetitive stitches accentuate detail.  Through my choice of color and material texture come alive.  Paper cutting creates intricate patterns that play with light and shadow.  This paper translated into embroidery brings dimension through thread texture, eyelets and other openings.  I seek to enchant the viewer and beckon them to appreciate complex patterns and intricate stitching, then hold their attention with unexpected colors and materials.  These elements are then combined in the pages of a book.  Its intimacy creates a one-on-one viewing experience to take the reader past the ordinary outside, and into a journey of ornate stitching and assembly.  Full of three-dimensional elements, a visual narrative unfolds.

  1. Wauw, what a beautiful booklet this is! It really is wonderful to see those outstanding embroideries captured in a frame!

  2. Good work! Thank you very much!
I always wanted to write in my site something like that. Can I take part of your post to my blog?
Of course, I will add backlink?

    Sincerely, Timur I. Alhimenkov
