I Only Wanted A Trim and You Took It All
This work consists of hand stitched wallpaper and a photograph. Together the two mediums provide a surface for comical illustrations to the viewer. Although the visual depiction refers to violence and anticipated pain, the underlying meaning is revealed in congruence with the title. Influenced by interpersonal relationships, the title directly correlates the sensations of watching someone have their hair spun in a blender to the feelings encountered when one person takes advantage of another. Despite the sometimes unpleasant realities of relationships with other individuals, the humorous aesthetic in this situation delivers an entertaining release to these tense interactions.
