Nava Lubelski

Nava Lubelski says in her statement, “My work explores the twin impulses to ruin and repair by juxtaposing rapid acts of destruction, such as staining and cutting, with painstaking restorative labor.”

Her work was recently featured in “Mend:love, life & loss” in Charleston, SC

A Terrible Tragedy That Ends Well, 14” x 12”, thread and ink stains on canvas, 2007

Net Scape, 20″ x 26″, thread, acrylic paint and ink stains on canvas, 2007

I love the way the stitching fills in the spaces and interacts with the paint and stains.

Day Dreams, 46″ x 42″, thread and stains on cut canvas, 2008
